Aadhar Card Big Update: Big update regarding Aadhaar card, UAID started this service, these people will have to face

Aadhar Card Big Update: (New Delhi) The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has successfully launched a new security mechanism for Aadhaar based fingerprint authentication and faster detection of fraud attempts.

The in-house developed Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) based security system is now using a combination of both finger minutiae and finger images to verify the captured fingerprint. This is making Aadhaar authentication transactions even stronger and more secure.

Adding to this the new Two Factor/Layer Authentication add-on check to verify the liveness of the fingerprint to further reduce the chances of fraud attempts.

This move will be highly useful in various sectors including banking and financial, telecom and government sectors. It will also benefit the last strata of the society as it will further strengthen the Aadhaar enabled payment system and curb malicious attempts by anti-social elements.

The new security mechanism of Aadhaar based fingerprint authentication is now fully operational. It has been launched after several months of discussion and collaboration by UIDAI with its partners and user agencies. (Aadhar Card Big Update)

UIDAI’s continuous engagement and due diligence with AUA/Sub AUA Authentication User Agencies (AUAs) regarding the benefits of the new modality. AUA is an entity engaged in providing Aadhaar enabled services to Aadhaar holders using authentication as facilitated by the Authentication Service Agency. Sub AUAs are those agencies which use Aadhaar authentication to enable their services through the existing requesting entity.

The new system will enable two-factor authentication with fingerprint based Aadhaar authentication or fingerprint only and will benefit all stakeholders. UIDAI Head Office and its Regional Offices are in touch with all the entities to facilitate any User Agency (which has not yet been migrated) to switch over to the new secure authentication mode at the earliest.

There is a growing adoption of Aadhaar based authentication transactions. It has proved helpful in availing many welfare benefits and services in the society. By the end of December 2022, the total number of Aadhaar authentication transactions had crossed 88.29 billion with an average of 70 million transactions per day. Most of them are fingerprint-based authentication, indicating its use and utility in daily life. (Aadhar Card Big Update)
