Betul Jalsankat: The summer season has not started yet, but from now the villagers are getting worried for drinking water in the rural areas. In Peepaldhana village of Panchayat Sarad of Betul district, the PHE department had made water available for drinking water in Peepal Dhana last year by installing a motor pump in the tube well and installing a Syntex tank for the villagers. Now water is not being supplied from tube well at all. And the handpumps are also not spewing water. Due to this, the villagers are facing severe water shortage.

Five of ward number 12 of Gram Panchayat, Ramesh Ahke, Pawan Ahke, Tulsia, Santri, Ram Pyari told that there are four handpumps in the village, but all of them are closed. In such a situation, the villagers are bringing drinking water from Ratamati village of Bhimpur block. Pawan Ahke says that due to lack of water, he is able to take bath after 4 days. Despite repeatedly giving information to the PHE department, no one is empty to see in this village. At the same time, the Gram Panchayat is also constantly turning away from the problems of the village. The villagers facing drinking water crisis have demanded appropriate action from the district administration.(Betul Jalsankat)
