Betul Latest News: Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, claims are being made to supply water to every household in rural areas, but the ground reality is something else. The reality is that even after spending lakhs and crores of rupees, the villagers have to worry for every drop of water. Jal Jeevan Mission has remained a white elephant in most of the villages. A similar case has also come to the fore in Akhtwara of Gram Panchayat Khedi Sanvaligarh under Betul district near Betul district headquarters.
The people of this village are troubled for a week for drinking water. Meena Ivane, Gunta Uike and Shivani Parpachi of the village told that it has been two months since every household was given tap connection by laying pipeline under the Jal Jeevan Mission in their village. They are also paying the bill for it. But, the electricity of the Nal Jal Yojana was suddenly cut off due to which the villagers have to face trouble for drinking water. There is a hand pump in the village, but pipes are not being extended in it. Due to which very less water is coming. (Betul Latest News)
Here the Gram Panchayat says that due to the negligence of the contractor of Jal Jeevan Mission, the electricity of Naljal Yojana has been disconnected. The scheme has not yet been handed over to the Gram Panchayat. Due to the carelessness of the PHE department, the handpumps installed in the Gram Panchayat area are being shut down due to non-maintenance. When the field staff are asked to repair any handpump in the villages, they spend a lot of time. The villagers have demanded appropriate action from the Collector Betul.
