IRCTC Tour Packages: IRCTC will operate Baba Saheb Ambedkar Yatra tour package under Dekho Apna Desh initiative. In this, some important places related to the life of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar will be included. The first journey of Baba Saheb Ambedkar Yatra will start from New Delhi in April 2023. Under the Dekho Apna Desh initiative, Ministry of Railways in association with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is operating Bharat Gaurav tourist trains on several theme based circuits across India.
This proposed 7 night and 8 day Bharat Gaurav tourist train journey will start from Delhi. Its first stop is Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) in Madhya Pradesh, which is the birthplace of Baba Saheb (Bhim Janmabhoomi). The train will then proceed to Nagpur Railway Station where tourists will proceed to visit Deekshabhoomi, the holy monument of Navayana Buddhism. Next the train will leave for Sanchi from Nagpur. Sightseeing in Sanchi includes a visit to the Sanchi Stupa and other Buddhist sites. After Sanchi, Varanasi is the next destination, which also includes a visit to Sarnath and Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
The next and final destination is Gaya. There tourists will be taken to the holy site of Bodh Gaya to visit the famous Mahabodhi Temple and other monasteries. Other important Buddhist sites of Rajgir and Nalanda will also be covered by road. The yatra will finally end in New Delhi.
