PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi: (New Delhi) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Karnataka on February 27, 2023. At around 11.45 am, the Prime Minister will visit and inspect the Shivamogga airport and thereafter inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects in Shivamogga. Thereafter, at around 3.15 pm, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of several development initiatives in Belagavi and dedicate them to the nation and also release the 13th installment of PM-KISAN.
The Prime Minister’s push to improve air connectivity across the country will get a further boost with the inauguration of the Shivamogga Airport in Shivamogga. The new airport has been developed at a cost of about Rs 450 crore. The passenger terminal building of this airport is capable of handling 300 passengers per hour. This airport will improve the connectivity and accessibility of Shivamogga and other neighboring areas of Malnad region.
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of two rail projects in Shivamogga. This includes the Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennur new railway line and the Kotaganguru Railway Coaching Depot. The Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennur new railway line will be developed at a cost of Rs 990 crore and will provide improved connectivity to the Malnad region along with the Bengaluru-Mumbai mainline. The Kotaganguru Railway Coaching Depot in Shivamogga city will be developed at a cost of over Rs 100 crore to facilitate the introduction of new trains from Shivamogga and ease the burden on maintenance facilities in Bengaluru and Mysuru.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of several projects for the development of roads. These projects, to be developed at a cumulative cost of over Rs 215 crore, include construction of new bypass road to Shikaripura town on NH-766C connecting Byndoor-Ranebennur; widening of NH-169A from Megaravalli to Agumbe; and construction of a new bridge on National Highway 169 at Bharatipura in Tirthahalli taluk.
Mission Plans Inaugurated
During the event, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of multi-village schemes worth over Rs 950 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission. This includes the inauguration of a multi-village scheme for Gautampura and 127 other villages and the laying of foundation stones for three more multi-village schemes to be developed at a total cost of over Rs 860 crore. The four schemes will provide piped water supply connections to households and are expected to benefit a total of over 4.4 lakh people.
Launch of smart city projects
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate 44 smart city projects in Shivamogga city at a cost of over Rs 895 crore. These projects include eight smart road packages with a length of 110 km; Integrated Command and Control Center and Multi-storey Car Parking; smart bus shelter projects; efficient system of solid waste management; Development of heritage projects like Shivappa Naik Palace into an interactive museum, 90 conservation lanes, creation of parks and riverfront development projects etc.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) 13th installment amounting to about Rs 16,000 crore to more than eight crore beneficiaries Will be released through Direct Benefit Transfer. Under this scheme, assistance of Rs.6000 per year is provided to the eligible agricultural families in three equal installments of Rs.2000 each.
The station will be dedicated to the nation
During the event, the Prime Minister will dedicate the redeveloped Belagavi Railway Station building to the nation. This railway station has been redeveloped at an estimated cost of about Rs 190 crore with the objective of providing world class facilities to the passengers. Railway line doubling project between Londa-Belagavi-Ghatprabha section is another such railway project which will be dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister at Belagavi. Developed at a cost of approximately Rs 930 crore, the project will enhance line capacity on the busiest Mumbai-Pune-Hubli-Bengaluru rail route, thereby boosting trade, commerce and economic activity in the region.
Foundation stone of six projects
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of six multi-village projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Belagavi, which will be developed at a cumulative cost of about Rs 1585 crore and will benefit a population of about 8.8 lakhs spread over 315 villages.
