Every year the Krishi Vigyan Mela is organized by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, which is awaited by farmers across the country.
In Pusa Mela, not only advanced certified seeds of various crops developed by the institute are made available at low prices, but farmers are also made aware of new techniques in agriculture and allied sectors.
Along with this, the problems faced by the farmers related to agriculture are also solved by the agricultural scientists.
Seeds of improved varieties will be available
Indian Agricultural Research Institute IARI Has announced the dates of Krishi Vigyan Mela to be organized this year.
The fair will be organized by PUSA from March 2 to March 4 in New Delhi.
This fair will be inaugurated by the Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar on March 2.
This three-day fair will be organized at the institute’s fair ground, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.
Seeds of improved varieties of Basmati rice
Basmati rice varieties developed by the institute were in high demand in the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela last year.
Keeping this in mind, this year also the institute has introduced varieties of Basmati paddy, mainly Pusa Basmati 1847, Pusa Basmati 1886 and Pusa Basmati. Seeds of 1885 varieties will be made available in sufficient quantity to the farmers.
Apart from this, farmers will also be able to buy improved seeds of other varieties developed by the institute.
What will be the main attraction of the fair?
The main theme of this year’s Pusa fairNutrition, food grains and environmental protection through Shree Anna (coarse grains)has been kept.
Along with this, other main attractions of the fair will be as follows: –

Along with this, a technical session will be organized as well as a live exhibition of modern farming techniques will also be organized.
Along with this, farmers will also be able to get information about agriculture related products available at other stalls coming to the fair.
