Stereotype Movie: Bollywood is notorious for using the same old story in different ways. The age-old stories change slightly over time but the basic concept remains the same. This means that some stereotypes are promoted through these films which later become ingrained in people’s minds.
However, there are some films which have no contribution in them. Rather these films are breaking stereotypes and bringing a change in the mindset of people. Here we are going to tell you about some such films.
Stereotype Movie:padman
Who would have thought of a film on periods. Releasing this film in a society where periods are considered taboo as well as impure, was a big step towards change. This film was well liked by the people. Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor were seen in lead roles in the film. The film was directed by R Balki.
English Vinglish
This film changed the thinking that there is no age limit to learn something new. A 40-year-old woman, ostracized by her loved ones just because she didn’t know English, enthusiastically embarks on a journey to earn her self-respect by learning the language. The last scene of the film was very good when Shashi (Sridevi’s character) prefers Hindi newspaper even after learning English.
Sridevi played the lead role in the film. This film was directed by Gauri Shinde.

Taare Zameen Par
This is one of the most favorite movies of our childhood. From parenting to the way of teaching, this film had an impact on our lives in many ways. A concept is ingrained in our mind that the mother is expected to take care of the child and pray for their safety while the father is expected to fight for the child. This stereotype is broken when it is not a mother but a stepmother who fights to get justice for her daughter. Mom’s character was played by Sridevi in the film. This was Sridevi’s last film which was directed by Ravi Udyavar.
mission mangal
A new mother, a divorcee, a mother in her 40s, a single woman in her 20s, an old man on the verge of retirement or a young man looking to stabilize his career, everyone can achieve their dreams. This film has broken this stereotype. Mission Mangal is a wonderful movie in which many actors like Vidya Balan, Akshay Kumar, Sharman Joshi, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu have appeared. The film is directed by Jagan Shakti.
Slap
In a society where even marital rape and domestic violence are considered an ‘internal affair’ of the family, can you make a slap a big deal? Thappad’s heroine does exactly that, even though she is a completely devoted wife. The movie Thappad is a wake-up call, reminding the heroine as well as all the other women out there that she has lost her self-confidence to fulfill the needs of her husband.

Released internationally as The New Classmate, this funny and thought-provoking film directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, underlines the importance of education for women in the society. Rai, Ajay Rai and Alan McAlex under the banner of Color Yellow Productions and JAR Pictures, the film starred Swara Bhasker as Chanda Sahay, a high-school drop-out, housewife and single mother trying to make ends meet for herself.
