Rajendra Tukaram Chavan, a farmer from Borgaon Barshi village of Solapur, sold 500 kg of onions in the mandi on February 17.

Actually, farmer Rajendra Tukaram Chavan of village Borgaon (Zadi) of Barshi taluka of Solapur district had planted onion crop in his 2 acres of land.

Rajendra Chavan sent ten bags of onions to sell in the market with the intention of repaying his loan.

On February 17, 2023, the weight of 10 sacks of onion sold to Surya Traders Onion in Solapur was 512 kg, but due to fall in the price, the farmer got a price of Re 1 per kg.

After deducting the fare of the vehicle along with Hammali, Tulai, the farmer could get only Rs.2.

Meanwhile, the onion trader has denied all the allegations of the farmer in this regard.

According to the trader’s claim, farmer Rajendra Chavan started selling onions to him from 31 December.

After selling onions five times, he has been paid 2 lakh 30 thousand.

He told that the onion brought on February 17 was bad, so he could not get the right price.
